What is somatic movement?

Somatics is simple, easy and life-changing. Anyone can make it part of their daily routine - at any age, fitness level, or life circumstance.

Through slow and gentle movements, somatics wakes up the brain’s nervous system to recognize tight muscles that have become a habit and releases them. In somatic movements, learning how to gain greater voluntary control of our bodies is something we can all achieve.

Along with the physical changes, there is also a greater sense of calm and peace as tight muscles let go, pain disappears and we gain increased insight and knowledge of our own bodies.

Meet Leslie.

I know first hand what it feels like to live with chronically tight muscles that affect posture and free and easy movement.

After a successful career spent in senior leadership positions working in large private and public sector organizations, I became a Certified Essential Somatics Movement Trained Teacher after directly experiencing the life-changing impact of somatics.

“I'm thrilled to have found somatics with such a caring teacher. Leslie is empathic and has a clear understanding of how somatics works for different people. I am now more aware of my everyday movement and have learned to relieve muscle pain using the methods Leslie taught me. I look forward to continuing sessions with her.”
